Prime Minister Bratušek visits Bled: "We will have to do more for the promotion of Slovenian tourism."

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, today paid a visit to Bled. In the morning, she met with European Commissioner for the Environment, Janez Potočnik, the Mayor of Bled, Janez Fajfar, and the President of the IEDC – Bled School of Management, Danica Purg. According to Prime Minister Bratušek, their talks focused on tourism in Bled and in Slovenia in general. With European Commissioner for the Environment she also discussed serious environmental and infrastructure problems. After the meeting, Ms Bratušek said with regard to the gas terminal in Aquilinia: "I believe that by 2 October, we will, together with the Italian side, find solutions that will benefit everybody."

 

Later in her visit, Prime Minister Bratušek took a walk along the shore of Lake Bled to the IECD – Bled School of Management, where its President, Danica Purg, presented to her the aims and study programmes of the school. Ms Bratušek also visited Bled Castle, accompanied by the Mayor of Bled. She emphasised that the Slovenian Government will have to do more for the promotion of Slovenian tourism. In her view, tourism represents one of Slovenia's advantages, and therefore needs special attention.
