At the invitation of the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, Enrico Letta, the Slovenian Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek will attend the trilateral summit of the Prime Ministers of Slovenia, Italy and Croatia on Thursday 12 September 2013 in Venice. The purpose of the summit is to examine and identify the opportunities for economic and political cooperation in the wake of Croatia's joining the EU.

The cooperation between the three countries within the EU may contribute to the strengthening of the relationship between Slovenia, Italy and Croatia and to a more effective promotion of their national interests within the EU. The summit will also be an opportunity to exchange their views and experiences associated with their efforts to combat the financial crisis. Bilateral relations between Slovenia and Italy and between Slovenia and Croatia are good due to a regular and intensive dialogue at the highest political levels.
