The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, on 1 September attended the opening of the Young Bled Strategic Forum: Solution Generator Conference. In her address, she emphasised that the current problems of young people could be resolved only by the society as a whole.

In the continuation, the Prime Minister mentioned that in recent months she had participated in numerous discussions on youth issues and policies, and thus had realised that tackling youth problems very quickly turned into a labyrinth without a way out, unless their problems were dealt with in the context of the problems of society in general. The rising youth unemployment cannot be viewed as an isolated problem of Slovenian and European societies but, instead, the society as a whole should find solutions to overcome this crisis. "Each of us has to play his role so that we can collectively make change happen."

By way of conclusion, the Prime Minister stressed that tackling youth unemployment was one of the key priorities of the Slovenian Government and that she was well aware of how important it is to create more jobs for young people and provide them with better education and incentives for their financial independence. She also made a promise to the young participants of the Bled Strategic Forum to carefully examine the Forum's conclusions and to deal with youth issues with a full measure of responsibility.
