The Prime Minister's first official visit to the Republic of Serbia

At the invitation of the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, Slovenian Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek will pay her first official visit to Serbia on 1 and 2 October 2013. This visit represents a continuation of the ongoing and enhanced high-level political dialogue. The purpose of the visit is to review the possibilities for intensifying cooperation between the Slovenian and Serbian Governments in different areas. On this occasion several bilateral agreements will be signed, which are a step forward in strengthening the relations between the two countries, particularly in the economic sphere. During her official visit, the Slovenian Prime Minister will be accompanied by a part of her ministerial team and a small economic delegation.


Special emphasis during the meeting between the Slovenian and Serbian parties will be placed on strengthening the bilateral, and in particular economic cooperation, and on seeking solutions to open issues. The Republic of Slovenia will reaffirm its further support regarding Serbia's efforts to join the European Union, while underlining the importance of implementing the necessary reforms and signed agreements. The talks will also focus on exchanging the views on the current situation in the region.

     

Prime Minister Bratušek will meet with her host, Prime Minister Ivica Dačić, and on the sidelines of the visit, she will also meet with the President of the Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolić, and the President of the Serbian National Assembly, Nebojša Stefanović.
