Prime Minister visits Bela krajina

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, together with the Minister of Culture, Uroš Grilc, the Minister of Defence, Roman Jakič and the Minister for Slovenians Abroad, Tina Komel visited Bela krajina.

 

As part of her first visit she met with the management of the Iskra Sistemi d.d. where she attended the manufacture of condensers. The employees presented the company's plan for the future and acquainted her with difficulties they encounter in the operation of the company. The Prime Minister in her talks with the company's management expressed her hope that "the owner of the company would take proper care of the company, since the jobs were of immense importance for Semič and its surroundings." She also visited the Kulturni dom Črnomelj, a cultural monument of national importance.

 

Later that day the Prime Minister visited the Gasilski dom Metlika, the headquarters of the oldest voluntary fire brigade in Slovenia and met the members of the brigade. She expressed her thanks to the fire brigade members for the important work they carry out. In connection with the third development axis she stressed that the Government will continue its active involvement in resolving the problems.

 

The Prime Minister continued her visit in Metlika where she visited the production line in the Kolpa d.d. and met the management board members of the company which is one of the Europe’s leading manufacturers of bathroom furniture in Central and South Eastern Europe.
