The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, visited the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia on the occasion of its open door day; accompanied by the Minister of Culture, Uroš Grilc, and the Minister of Finance, Uroš Čufer, she was given a tour of the premises and the depots. The archivists showed their visitors the most precious documents kept by the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia.

During her visit, Prime Minister Bratušek said that the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia literally opened its doors and thus helped raise awareness of the documents kept by the Archives. She also touched upon the forthcoming referendum on the Act amending the Documentary and Archival Material Protection and Archives Act: "I believe I must underline that the amended Act will provide open access to the archives. Slovenia will have a modern Act comparable to European standards. I wish to invite the citizens to attend the referendum and cast a YES vote to support open history thus enabling us to begin, together, to address the future."
