Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek, at the meeting with members of the protection, rescue and relief forces, thanked to all who were involved in rescue and relief efforts during the recent flooding in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia for unselfish help provided to inhabitants in the affected areas, and added: "You have proved that human solidarity and compassion still exist."

In her speech of thanks, Ms Alenka Bratušek expressed her satisfaction that the European Commission and the French Republic accepted her initiative to organise a donor conference to help the affected areas, since the "proportions of this disaster are only starting to show and the recovery of the stricken area will be time-consuming and very expensive". She stressed that Brussels has by now started the procedure for hosting a conference. "Slovenia is proud to be able to help, but ultimately we all are proud of you who have proved that human solidarity still exists. Sincere thanks to all," said the Prime Minister to rescue and relief team members.
