The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Ms Alenka Bratušek, today visited the flooded areas of Doboj and Maglaj in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The mayor of the municipality of Maglaj acquainted the Prime Minister with the proportions of the floods and the consequences faced by the locals, and pointed out the systemic solutions that are of vital importance for the ability to respond to such challenges.

Ms Bratušek also visited the sports hall of Maglaj, which was rendered completely non-functional by the recent floods. In her statement to the media, the Prime Minister stressed that "the situation is even more shocking when you witness it in person." She expressed her satisfaction with the fact that the delegation included a representative of the Elan factory that will help equip the sports hall, and underlined that the key task of the national and local authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina after the international conference will be to justly distribute the funds among those who are most in need. "Slovenia is absolutely willing to help," added the Prime Minister.

The people of Doboj, too, thanked the Slovenian Government and people for the help offered so fast and so efficiently. They expect the international donor conference to be carried out as soon as possible. The Prime Minister concluded her visit to Doboj by stopping at the Tuš shopping centre that was also severely damaged by the floods.
