Dear workers, citizens of Slovenia,

 

Today we are proud to say that our country is progressing rapidly. Our successful economic progress has benefited the whole of society, and we have more opportunities to develop quality education, health care, culture and mutual solidarity. The basis of this progress is provided by the work of Slovenian workers and everyone who strives every day to create material, cultural and spiritual goods. The basis of this progress is the result of the efforts of our pensioners, who have worked hard, often in more difficult circumstances than we know today. There are sufficient reasons to examine the path we have made and the results of out joint work with satisfaction.

 

May Day is a holiday of solidarity and mutual aid. Today, when things are changing rapidly and new technologies are being developed, it is important to maintain fundamental human values and to ensure healthy and solidary relationships, particularly at the work place, where we spend most of our time. Thus we will build a society of free, but connected and united individuals on the basis of material progress. A homeland where we will all feel good.
