The Slovenian PM and his guest discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, which are very good and with no outstanding issues. They did agree, however, that there were still some opportunities, particularly with regard to the economy.

Mr Janša and Mr Kirkilas focused on European issues, agreeing on close collaboration, particularly during Slovenia's EU Presidency in 2008. Slovenia is especially interested in the experience regarding the European New Neighbours Policy. Whilst discussing Slovenia's Presidency priorities, both PMs stressed the issue of energy. They also exchanged views on the situation in the Western Balkans, while Mr Janša, following a request from his guest, presented him with Slovenia's experience in adopting the common European currency.
