Prime Minister Janez Janša opens the new production facilities of the Hella Lux Slovenija company

Today in Ljubljana the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, opened the new production facilities of the Hella Lux Slovenija d.o.o. company, which specialises in manufacturing lighting equipment for the biggest global brands in the car industry.

In the new facilities, the company will be able to produce plastic lenses for headlamps and fog lamps, which until now it had to import. This will boost the annual production of headlamps from 1.3 to 3 million units, and fog lamps from 4.5 to 6 million units.

PM Janez Janša, who has visited over one hundred Slovenian companies since the beginning of his term in office, said that during last few years, exports from Slovenia had been increasing by 17%, and that much of this was due to successful companies like Hella Lux Slovenija. "This is an industry that made it possible for Slovenia to attain 6.5% economic growth in the first half of 2007, placing it at the top of the EU countries and at the very top among EMU countries," said the PM.

PM Janez Janša also stressed that Slovenia needed such growth not only in order to catch up with the average EU development rate, but above all, so that the standard of living in Slovenia would catch up with the European average. "This is a prerequisite for the satisfaction of employees who have a stable job and guaranteed salaries, and can make plans about their future and the future of their families," stressed PM Janez Janša.

The PM expressed particular satisfaction about the fact that now, as Slovenia is an EU, EMU and Schengen member, the Hella Lux company has been creating synergy between Slovenian know-how and labour and European know-how and capital, thus creating new jobs and promising prospects for both today's employees and future generations.
