Prime Minister Janez Janša meets Macedonian President

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia and current President of the European Council today held talks with the Macedonian President, Mr Branko Crvenkovski, who is currently visiting Ljubljana, and confirmed Slovenia’s continued support for Macedonia’s ambitions in the Euro-Atlantic arena.

PM Janez Janša and Mr Crvenkovski agreed that, in this regard, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia was facing a critical period and that the pace of development of the entire Western Balkan region had to be taken into account in this process. Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski gave assurances that the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia would continue to play a constructive role in this context.

The Slovenian Prime Minister took the opportunity to express his satisfaction at the progress in bilateral cooperation, which is also demonstrated by the increase in trade between the two countries.
