The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, early this morning attended a celebratory reception given in Brežice in honour of the Slovenian Olympian and gold medallist in the hammer throw, Primož Kozmus, by his family, friends and sponsors. Congratulating Primož on his “Olympic Champion” title in the presence of several thousand people, the Prime Minister thanked him for setting an example for younger generations.

In the Prime Minister’s words, Primož Kozmus has proven that Slovenians are capable of ranking among the best. This is also confirmed by the other Slovenian sportsmen and women who have won medals at the Olympic Games in Beijing. “Slovenia is currently ranked first at these Olympic Games, given its medals-per-inhabitant ratio,” stressed the Prime Minister. He went on to add that this was additional proof of our capacity to rank among the best.
