Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Janša received today the representatives of the preparatory committee for the submission of the candidacy for the Maribor 2011 Winter Universiade who presented their preparations to date and their views of the project.

The Prime Minister supported the efforts of the preparatory committee for the Maribor 2011 Winter Universiade candidacy.
 According to his words,  a successful completion of the project may represent added value not only for Maribor, but for the whole of  Slovenia. Slovenian Government will use their best efforts to help the proposers of the candidacy to succeed.  
 

The initiators were agreed that the effects of an eventual project of this type should be seen from a broader perspective as they may contribute to a developmental thrust throughout the region. They believe that the Government's support is of great importance both to the candidacy procedure as well as later in the execution phase.
