The Prime Minister Janez Janša Concludes his Visit to Saudi Arabia and Continues to Kuwait

Today, on the third day of his official visit to Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, opened a joint venture of the companies Eti and Iskraemeco, and the Saudi company MEMF. He then travelled on an official visit to Kuwait, where he will meet the Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

This morning, the Prime Minister Janez Janša opened new production facilities of a joint venture company, established with Slovenian and Saudi investment, and took the opportunity to stress that this is the first ever Slovenian investment in Saudi Arabia. The trade in goods and services between the countries is rather modest; therefore, the PM expressed hope that after a successful business conference this Sunday in Riyadh, Slovenian investment in Saudi Arabia would increase. "There are ample opportunities for business cooperation between the countries. With this visit the Slovenian Government aims to open more doors to cooperation with a country with which we have had little or no business contacts," said the PM.

The PM concluded his visit to Saudi Arabia, and set off, accompanied by large government and business delegation, to an official visit to Kuwait. At the airport, he was received with military honours by his host, Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, with whom Mr Janša will hold a meeting this evening. They will focus on strengthening political dialogue between the countries. The Slovenian PM will also present his counterpart with investment opportunities in Slovenia, and express interest in strengthening economic cooperation, particularly in the areas of financial services and tourism.
