Prime Minister Janez Janša nominates new Minister for Higher Education, Science and Technology

Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, sent a proposal to the President of the National Assembly, France Cukjati, nominating Mojca Kucler Dolinar to the position of Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology.

The candidate, Mojca Kucler Dolinar, born 26 August 1972, graduated at the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana in 1997, and enrolled in post-graduate studies at the Faculty of Law at the University of Maribor in 2000. In 2003 she was a legal intern at a court in Ljubljana.

After graduating in 1998, she worked in human resources at the Mostovna company, and in 1999 she took up the post of independent adviser for general and legal affairs at the Farmland and Forest Fund of the Republic of Slovenia. In 2004 she was elected a deputy to the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, where she is Chair of the Committee on Domestic Policy, Public Administration and Justice. She is also a member of the Committee on Health, and the Commission for the Rules of Procedure. As a member of the Slovenian delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, she is actively involved in issues of education, culture, science and technology, human rights, and legal and social affairs.

Ms Kucler Dolinar has gained the necessary experience and know-how in her work to run and coordinate different views and opinions. The PM believes that the candidate will be able to fully assume the position in the shortest time possible. He is convinced that under her leadership, the Ministry will successfully carry out all tasks with regard to the Presidency of the EU, and finish projects included in the current government schedule.
