Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, met His Royal Highness The Duke of York, who visited Slovenia as the UK's special representative for international trade and investment.

The PM and His Royal Highness assessed cooperation between Slovenia and the UK positively. The PM outlined Slovenia's experience in introducing the euro at the beginning of this year and presented social and economic reforms and the favourable economic results recently recorded by Slovenia.

 

His Royal Highness congratulated the PM on the exceptional progress Slovenia has achieved since independence, expressing hope that this would continue in the future, and stressing that the United Kingdom was willing to share good practices in the field of public-private partnerships, among other things. He wished Slovenia a successful EU Presidency and said that the UK would support Slovenia's efforts.
