Prime Minister Janez Janša congratulates Nobel laureates

In his message of congratulation to the Nobel peace laureates, the former Vice-President of the USA, Al Gore, and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, stressed that the selection reflected the growing awareness of the effects of climate change on the global safety of human kind. PM Janez Janša took the opportunity to commend the former US Vice-President for his deep commitment to raising global awareness about the urgent need to act against climate change, while in his letter of congratulation to the IPCC Chairman, Dr R.K. Pachauri, he wrote that the role of the organisation was vital in providing a scientific basis for credible debates on climate change.

In his letter of congratulation to the Nobel laureates the PM stressed the significance of the pioneering work in the development of science of Dr Albert Fert and Dr Peter Grünberg in physics and Dr Gerhard Ertl in chemistry, and the use of their research achievements for the good of mankind.
