The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Janez Janša, had a meeting today with the American economist, President of the Foundation on Economic Trends, Mr Jeremy Rifkin.

Mr Janša and Mr Rifkin discussed current energy and climate issues on the European policy agenda. Both assessed the European Union’s ambitious commitments on reducing greenhouse gas emissions as positive, agreeing that they represent an incentive for Member States to introduce new technological solutions generating immense economic potential.

 

The President of the Foundation on Economic Trends, Jeremy Rifkin also outlined his views on the development opportunities available to Europe as a result of new findings in the field of renewable energy production and use.
