Today at Brdo pri Kranju, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia and current President of the European Council, Mr Janez Janša, had a meeting with His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who is currently visiting Slovenia. In their talks, they undertook to build on the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, in particular in respect of economic cooperation.

PM Janša thanked the King for Jordan’s support for the Slovenian initiative to establish a Euro-Mediterranean University as a specific project within the Barcelona Process. Prime Minister Janez Janša and King Abdullah devoted special attention to the situation in the Middle East, advocating the continuation of the peace process in the region.

Before their discussion, the Prime Minister also attended the lunch held in honour of the Jordanian royal couple by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, and his wife, Mrs Barbara Miklič Türk.
